The lens has tear-off posts on both sides — during a race, a stack of films goes on and gets peeled off one at a time as they cake up with mud. Is the lens compatible with tear-off films?

Yes, the lens has tear-off posts, same as the adult Vision line. The tear-off films themselves are bought separately as needed for a muddy race or practice session.
