Performance and Power Transfer

At the heart of the Traverse is the RC PowerDrive nylon shank – a tapered, toe-shaped insert engineered for precise power transfer without compromising comfort. The 40 mm oversized cleat box allows easy engagement even in muddy conditions and offers a longer range of cleat adjustment for a custom riding stance. A nylon heel counter adds rear-foot stability when hammering through rough terrain.

Durability and Protection

The welded microfiber upper is both weather-resistant and breathable, providing durability in wet conditions without overheating in warm weather. The asymmetrical medial collar integrates D3O® impact protection for crank and frame contact, while the custom-molded toe and heel guards protect against rock strikes and debris. A fully gusseted tongue prevents dirt and grit from entering, and the Powerstrap across the laces ensures midfoot retention and added security.

Grip and Control

The outsole uses DST 8.0 Mid Grip rubber, developed in collaboration with Rubber Kinetics / Goodyear, offering the ideal blend of traction, stiffness, and longevity. A hexagonal tread pattern is optimized for clipless performance while providing solid footing off the bike. The result is an SPD shoe that grips, stabilizes, and performs even in unpredictable conditions.
