The FUNN DJ saddle in black is built around 8mm chromoly rails — a full millimeter thicker than the common 7mm standard, built to take harder landings without bending. A highly abrasion-resistant synthetic leather panel covers the rear and sides, exactly where thighs and pants grind against the saddle during grabs. At 245×135mm it stays compact so it doesn't get in the way when you shift your body over the frame. Built for dirt jump, slopestyle, freeride and bike park riding, not for long days in the saddle.

8mm rails instead of the usual 7mm

Chromoly (CrMo) steel is a chromium-and-molybdenum alloy that handles higher bending stress before failing than plain carbon steel — under a hard landing it flexes and springs back instead of snapping. FUNN bumps the DJ saddle's rail diameter to 8mm — most saddles run 7mm — so the material simply takes more before it fatigues. Repeated hard landings won't tear the saddle apart or leave the rails permanently bent, unlike thinner rails after a season of jumping.

A cover built to survive grabs and crashes

The rear and side panels use abrasion-resistant synthetic leather exactly where a rider grabs the saddle during bar spins and other grabs, and where it hits the ground first in a crash. A standard vinyl cover polishes and cracks in these spots within months; this construction is denser and holds up to repeated friction better.

Built for dirt jump, not all-day rides

The compact 245×135mm shape and medium-firm foam are built for dirt jump riding — quick starts, crouching before a jump, shifting your body over the frame, and hard landings. The compact length keeps the nose and tail out of the way when you shift your body over the frame, so it doesn't interfere even during bar spins. This isn't built for trail or XC riding with hours of continuous sitting: on a trail or XC bike, the smaller platform and firmer foam would wear you down on a long ride. Here it's the opposite — the smaller shape lets your legs and body move freely through a jump.

Compatibility: round rails for a standard clamp

The DJ saddle uses round rails on a standard two-bolt (twin-rail) clamp — it fits the vast majority of MTB and BMX seatposts, unlike closed Pivotal or I-beam systems that need their own mount. Before buying, just confirm your seatpost uses a classic two-rail clamp, not an integrated Pivotal or flat I-beam rail.

Yes. Standard two-bolt clamps accept 8mm rails without special hardware, and the extra millimeter gives it more strength margin than a common 7mm rail for hard impacts.

Can I run it on a trail bike?

Physically yes, but it's the wrong tool for that job — limited fore/aft adjustment room and firmer construction aren't built for long seated rides; a trail bike wants a wider saddle, like the FUNN ADLIB.
