Dartmoor Primal Saddle – Lightweight and Durable Saddle for Technical Riding

The Dartmoor Primal is a modern saddle developed with a focus on low weight and high durability, making it an ideal choice for disciplines such as Enduro, Trail, and All-Mountain. The saddle construction is designed to provide maximum comfort even during all-day rides, without compromising functionality during aggressive off-road riding.

The design is based on the real-world needs of riders. A key feature is the extra padded and ergonomically shaped nose, which significantly aids during steep technical climbs when body weight needs to be shifted forward. Another specific detail is the front "bumper" – a specially shaped section designed to protect the saddle from damage during chairlift transport or rough handling.

Development involved collaboration with Dartmoor team riders, including the Szamann brothers and Leader, who tested the saddle in demanding conditions ranging from Freeride tracks to long XC traverses. The result is a component that combines race-ready weight with the durability required by enthusiasts.

Compatibility and Construction

The saddle is built on hollow Cr-Mo (chromium-molybdenum) rails, ensuring an excellent strength-to-flex ratio while maintaining a low weight of just 185 g. With dimensions of 276 x 138 mm, the saddle suits a wide range of riders and is compatible with all standard seatposts on the market. The durable cover is designed to withstand mud, water, and abrasion in rough terrain.
