The Ø35 mm enduro/DH handlebar Dartmoor Viper Pro is built from AL-7050 aluminum alloy, used where standard 6061 alloy starts to crack under heavy repeated loads. Dartmoor tested it with their own race riders on big drops, gaps and step-downs before release, not just on paper against the EN standard. An 800 mm width with 35 mm rise to bend and 55 mm rise to end gives a low, aggressive riding position for technical terrain. A 4° upsweep and 8° backsweep keep the wrists in a natural angle even after a full day in the saddle. The bar weighs 315 g, has a matte black anodized finish and clamps into a 35 mm stem.

AL-7050 alloy and fatigue resistance

Most trail handlebars use 6061 alloy, which is light but gradually fatigues and cracks under repeated heavy loading — hard landings off drops, impacts on rocks. AL-7050 has a higher tensile strength and handles cyclic loading better, which is why it's more common in aerospace parts and race components pushed to their limits. For a handlebar built for bike park and DH tracks, that means a longer service life without visible material deformation.

Ø35 mm clamp

The Ø35 mm standard replaces the older 31.8 mm in gravity disciplines where riders need maximum stiffness in the force transfer between the bar and the stem. A thicker tube wall at the center of the bar limits flex under heavy loading (hard landings, impacts), so steering stays precise even after repeated hits. The Viper Pro clamps exclusively into 35 mm stems — it cannot be used with an older 31.8 mm stem.

Geometry and who it's for

The low rise (35 mm to bend, 55 mm to end) combined with the 800 mm width gives an aggressive, low riding position that experienced riders want on fast DH tracks and big jumps — beginners may find it less comfortable compared to a higher trail setup. The 4° upsweep and 8° backsweep keep the wrists in a natural angle, so hands tire less even on a long day at the bike park.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the Viper Pro fit my stem?

Only a stem with the same Ø35 mm clamp. It cannot be combined with the older 31.8 mm standard — if you have a 31.8 mm stem, you'll need either a different 31.8 mm handlebar or a new 35 mm stem.

Can the 800 mm width be cut down?

Handlebars are commonly cut down at the ends to rider preference, same as with other aluminum bars in AL-7050. Check the Specifications tab for the manufacturer's recommended maximum cut-down amount.

What riding style is this bar suited for?

The low rise and increased stiffness target bike park, DH and freeride riding — disciplines where the bar takes hard hits from big drops and jumps. For regular trail or XC riding the low position is less comfortable; a lighter bar with more rise suits those better.

What's the end diameter for grips?

A standard 22.2 mm — fits regular grips and brake/shifter levers without an adapter.
