The Blackbird 29 is a versatile gravity bike built for enduro and all-mountain riding. It combines stability on descents, efficiency on climbs and a modern geometry designed for technical terrain.
The Dartmoor Blackbird 29 is a universal gravity bike designed for enduro and all-mountain riding. It is built to handle rough descents, technical climbs and demanding terrain, while still being comfortable enough for longer rides and everyday trail use.
The progressive aluminium frame was developed in cooperation with top enduro riders and features a suspension system with a linear leverage curve across the full 160 mm of travel. This results in sensitive small-bump response and predictable behaviour under heavy loads. A low centre of gravity and a longer front triangle provide stability at speed and precise rider feedback.
Climbing performance was also a key focus during development. The pivot location and kinematics are tuned to maximise pedalling efficiency while reducing unwanted suspension movement, making the Blackbird 29 suitable for long mountain days as well as aggressive riding.
The rear triangle consists of 12 individually optimised parts and runs on oversized MAX bearings with increased resistance to moisture. The single-pivot design ensures durability, stiffness and low maintenance compared to more complex systems.
29" wheels deliver speed on fast sections, confidence on descents and stability when rolling over obstacles. The bike is completed with reliable components including X-Fusion suspension, Shimano brakes and Dartmoor cockpit parts – the same components sold separately, not downgraded OEM versions.
The Blackbird 29 features progressive geometry with a long front triangle and a 65° head angle. Boost spacing, a robust AL6061 frame and durable wheelset make it a dependable platform for aggressive enduro and all-mountain riding with a balanced overall weight.
