The Dartmoor Rocbird Junior is a fully-fledged full-suspension machine built for the next generation of young riders!
Do you want to give your young rider a machine that will truly support them in the bikepark and on wild forest trails, pushing their skills to the next level? The Dartmoor Rocbird Junior 27.5/26" – Cool Grey/Blue is a full-fledged, uncompromising full-suspension bike designed specifically for teenage riders. Forget about ordinary "kids'" bikes that quickly hit their limits in demanding terrain. This junior model combines playfulness with the high-end components of adult enduro machines, making it the ideal choice for disciplines such as enduro, downhill, and technical singletracks (trail).
The frame of the Dartmoor Rocbird Junior is based on the proven geometry of adult enduro models and is welded from premium, heat-treated Alu 6061-T6 aluminum alloy. This guarantees extreme durability during crashes and jumps while maintaining a highly favorable weight. The most important feature, however, lies in the wheel design: the Mini-Mullet (27.5" front / 26" rear) concept is a total game-changer for riders with a height of 140 to 160 cm. The larger front wheel acts like a bulldozer – easily rolling over rocks and roots, giving the young rider an immense sense of security. The smaller rear wheel shortens the chainstay of the frame, making it much easier to corner, lift the bike for jumps, and prevent the rider's butt from hitting the tire on steep downhills. The frame also features a SRAM UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger) universal derailleur hanger, which protects expensive components during impacts and makes replacement easy.
For suspension to truly work on a kids' or junior bike, it must not be too stiff. Teenage riders weigh less than adults, which is why Dartmoor equipped the Rocbird Junior with the premium Manitou Mezzer Pro air fork with 160 mm of travel, offering unmatched chassis stiffness, precise steering, and maximum sensitivity to small bumps. Rear suspension is handled by the top-tier RockShox Deluxe Select+ shock. The entire suspension system is kinematically tuned to be highly sensitive at the beginning of the stroke (for comfort on small bumps) while showing significant progression at the end of the stroke. In practice, this means the suspension won't bottom out during big jumps and hard landings, protecting both the rider's joints and the frame itself.
A young rider's safety always comes first. That is why the bike is equipped with elite 4-piston hydraulic Hayes Dominion A2 SFL brakes. The SFL acronym stands for Short Finger Lever – the levers are intentionally shaped closer to the handlebars so that shorter junior fingers can easily reach them, requiring minimal pressure to stop. The powerful Shimano CUES 1x10 drivetrain with modern Linkglide technology guarantees extremely smooth shifting even under load and boasts a several times longer chain and cassette life. The entire design is crowned by the absolutely fascinating Cool Grey Blue paint job. This is an exclusive metallic fade that shifts in the sunlight from bright silver to blue tones.

Absolutely not, it is an intentional technology called a Mullet setup (Mini-Mullet for juniors). The larger 27.5" front wheel provides stability, rolls over obstacles easily, and holds its line at high speeds. The smaller 26" rear wheel significantly shortens the overall geometry, making it much easier for the young rider to maneuver in tight corners and during jumps. It also eliminates the risk of their butt buzzing the rear tire on steep descents.
This is a common issue with cheap children's bikes, but with the Dartmoor Rocbird Junior, you don't have to worry. The bike is equipped with the high-end Manitou Mezzer Pro air fork and RockShox Deluxe Select+ shock. Both units can be pressurized precisely according to your child's weight (from approx. 35-40 kg). The rear suspension system is also designed with high sensitivity at the beginning of the stroke, ensuring it responds reliably even under a very light rider.

A great shop with a thoroughly professional yet human approach. I have been ordering from them for a long time and there has never been any problem. Communication works perfectly and you know where you stand right from the start.
I now have my second Haro bike from Katmar Bike Center – this time an e-bike. Completely satisfied. Professional and helpful approach. I warmly recommend this shop.
Reliable. I bought a new chain, it turned out to be unsuitable, but exchanging it for another one was no problem.
